A man has died after suffering severe injuries when he entered a tiger enclosure at a wildlife park in the United Kingdom, South Yorkshire Police said.
In a statement, police said: “At 1:35 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, we received reports of a man entering a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.”
Emergency services arrived at the scene, but despite the best efforts of medical personnel, the man was pronounced dead, police said.
The tiger was not injured in the incident, according to authorities.
Police added that the man’s family had been informed and was receiving support from specially trained officers.
“Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time,” the statement said.
A police spokesperson also urged the public not to share the “distressing” footage circulating online, which reportedly shows the man being attacked by the tiger.
