First American Student Begins Full-Time Studies at the University of Pristina’s Faculty of Law

An American student has begun full-time master’s studies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Pristina, becoming the first American student to pursue full-time studies at the faculty.

Virginia Hugo-Vidal was welcomed on October 7, 2026, during a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Avni Puka.

Hugo-Vidal will study in the English-language master’s program in “Human Rights, International Criminal Law and Transitional Justice,” which focuses on human rights, international criminal law, and transitional justice.

The Faculty of Law said the development is part of the University of Pristina’s ongoing internationalization efforts. Since the 2023–2024 academic year, the program has regularly welcomed international students and professors.

The participation of students from different countries aims to promote the exchange of academic experiences and expand international cooperation in the field of legal studies.
