Lionel Messi will have a new head coach at Inter Miami after the MLS champions officially appointed Argentine coach Cristian “Kily” González.
González has signed a two-year contract with the club, replacing Guillermo Hoyos, who had been serving as interim manager.
The 51-year-old Argentine enjoyed a distinguished playing career, representing several major clubs, including Boca Juniors, Real Zaragoza, Valencia and Inter Milan.
He later moved into management, taking charge of Rosario Central and Unión de Santa Fe before most recently coaching Platense.
González now faces the challenge of leading Inter Miami, with the Argentine coach set to work with Messi and the club’s star-studded squad as they look to compete for further MLS success.
