Kosovo Assembly Officially Constituted

The Assembly of Kosovo has officially been constituted following the election of its deputy speakers.

“On this occasion, I declare that the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo is considered constituted. We will see each other at the next session,” the Assembly Speaker said after Emilia Rexhepi was elected deputy speaker representing the non-Serb minority communities.

Earlier, LDK’s Kujtim Shala and Tanja Vujević of the Serb List were also elected as deputy speakers of the Assembly.

MPs from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) did not attend the continuation of the constitutive session.

Ahead of the session, PDK announced that it was suspending Vlora Çitaku’s candidacy for deputy speaker pending a ruling by the Constitutional Court. The party had previously announced plans to refer the matter to the court after LVV MPs did not support Çitaku’s nomination on Friday.
