Lily Collins has bid an emotional farewell to Emily in Paris after filming her final scenes as Emily Cooper in the hit Netflix series.
The American actress marked her last day on set with a heartfelt Instagram post, reflecting on the role that has been a major part of her life for years.
“I’m speechless. It’s impossible to find the words to describe what this journey has meant to me,” Collins wrote. “For so many years, Emily has been a part of my life, and with every season she has continued to surprise, inspire and challenge me.”
Collins went on to thank series creator Darren Star, as well as the writers, directors, crew and fellow cast members who worked alongside her throughout the show.
She expressed particular gratitude for being trusted to bring Emily Cooper to life, describing the character as an endlessly optimistic American in Paris who repeatedly finds herself outside her comfort zone while learning to trust herself and rely on those around her.
Collins also thanked viewers for supporting the series throughout its run.
“I’ll carry this chapter with me forever,” she wrote. “Saying goodbye feels completely surreal and bittersweet, but more than anything, I feel incredibly proud and grateful that I got to be her and to be part of something so joyful.”
“This has changed me forever. Au revoir, Emily Cooper,” she concluded.
Emily in Paris premiered in 2020, with its sixth season set to conclude on December 24.
Alongside Collins, the series features Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, Lucien Laviscount, Minnie Driver and Paul Forman.
