The United States Embassy in Tirana has issued another warning following clashes on Wednesday afternoon during a protest that began on Durrës Street before moving to the area in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.
In an alert addressed to US citizens, the embassy stated that the demonstration near Skanderbeg Square had turned violent after stones were thrown.
According to the embassy, the protest could spread to nearby government buildings and surrounding blocks, potentially resulting in an increased police presence, traffic disruptions, diversions and road closures.
Embassy personnel have been advised to avoid demonstrations, while American citizens have been urged to remain vigilant and prioritise their personal safety.
The embassy also advised US citizens to monitor local media and follow instructions from law enforcement authorities to stay informed about the latest developments.
