Lucija Shisgiq, a 22-year-old Miss Austria with family roots in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has died unexpectedly.
Her death has prompted an outpouring of grief among family members, friends and those who knew her in Vienna, where she was born, raised and lived.
Shisgiq’s parents are originally from the Bosanska Posavina region of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Although she spent her life in Austria, she remained proud of her family heritage and often spoke about her connection to the region her parents came from.
