A plane carrying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Oslo for the funeral of King Harald was nearly struck by a drone as it prepared to take off from Moldova, according to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
“His plane was almost hit by a drone while preparing to take off from Moldova. This is the reality Zelenskyy is living with,” Støre told Norwegian public broadcaster NRK on Tuesday.
Zelenskyy arrived in Oslo later Tuesday evening to attend the funeral.
The Norwegian prime minister did not disclose the source of the information or provide further details about the incident, including how close the drone came to the Ukrainian president’s aircraft.
