Albania’s Court of Appeals has granted Ilir Meta’s request to leave the glass enclosure in the courtroom and attend his trial alongside his defense lawyer.
The decision was issued today by a panel headed by Judge Saida Dollani, allowing Meta to participate in the proceedings without being separated from his attorney by the courtroom enclosure.
A separate hearing concerning Meta’s request to change his security measure is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. today.
The court’s decision comes as proceedings against the former Albanian president and prime minister continue.
