Trump Leaves Door Open to Removing US Ambassador to Greece: “We’re Looking Into It, We’re Not Happy”

US President Donald Trump has left open the possibility of removing Kimberly Guilfoyle from her post as US ambassador to Greece, publicly expressing his dissatisfaction with the former fiancée of his son, Donald Trump Jr.

Trump made the remarks at the White House on Monday, October 12, following a series of reports raising questions about alleged irregularities before and after Guilfoyle took up her diplomatic position.

Asked by reporters whether he was considering removing her from the US embassy in Athens, Trump replied, “We’re looking into it,” adding that he was not satisfied with the situation.

According to published reports, Guilfoyle is alleged to have used her political connections to secure financial benefits and promote private interests.

Among the allegations is a claim that she asked donor Eric Deters to pay $100,000 toward a credit card debt. The reports further allege that Guilfoyle offered him access to officials within the US administration in return.
