Flags Featuring Mladić and Republika Srpska Symbols: Serbs Allegedly Tried to Disrupt KLA Protest in Pristina

A group of Serbs from Gračanica allegedly planned to release nationalist flags from the air during a protest held in Pristina under the slogan “Not in My Name.”

According to sources familiar with the incident, the flags reportedly included an image of Ratko Mladić, who was convicted of genocide, as well as another flag bearing the insignia of the Army of Republika Srpska.

The sources said the group allegedly planned to release the flags from Gračanica toward the area where the protest was taking place.

According to the same sources, those allegedly behind the plan had reportedly calculated that anti-drone systems would not be able to prevent the action.

However, Kosovo Police has not publicly confirmed the information or the identities of the individuals allegedly involved in the plan.

Authorities were asked for clarification regarding the incident, but no response had been received at the time of publication.

Meanwhile, a suspicious object was discovered during the afternoon on Rrustem Hyseni Street in Pristina. Kosovo Police said the object was believed to have been dropped from the air. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit intervened and safely dealt with the object.

According to information available about the incident, the box containing the suspected device also contained an object bearing an inscription in Cyrillic script.

The “Not in My Name” protest was held today at Skanderbeg Square in Pristina in opposition to the judgment issued by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers against former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
